Lake Annecy is a major attraction for hang-gliding and paragliding enthusiasts. In the summer months, it is not unusual to see upwards of 50 paragliders over the lake at the same time.
The most popular take-off point is at the Col de la Forclaz, approximately 40 minutes drive from your holiday accommodation at chez42, via either Talloires or Montmin.
It is well worth a visit to see the view and watch the paragliders flying just overhead. There is parking along the road close to a few restaurants. If you wish to see the paragliders take off, you could continue on foot, up past the restaurant Chalet La Pricaz for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the take-off point.
If the conditions are right, you might want to try it out for yourself and undertake a tandem flight with a trained expert.
